Job Description

Sunrise has been in business for 36 years and we continue to grow! We are looking for a Landscape Turf Technician Specialist who currently possesses a Virginia license for the application of pesticides and fertilizers or can obtain one through training. We are looking for a candidate who has at least 1 full season of experience in landscape maintenance. This is not a requirement as we are willing to train the right candidate. If you have had a license that has expired, you are encouraged to apply as well. If you have worked in landscape maintenance and have the desire to obtain your license, we will consider a training position. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record. We are looking for a self-starter and someone that can manage their department as well as train others as needed/directed by supervisor.

You are a great fit if:

• You currently possess/can renew/or obtain through training a Virginia license for the application of pesticides and fertilizers
• Have at least 1 full season of experience in landscape maintenance
• Possess a valid drivers license with a clean DMV record
• Can receive written and verbal communication in English
• Are a self-starter and someone who can manage your department and train others as directed by your supervisor

Job description and responsibilities of a Turf Technician Specialist:

The Turf Technician Specialist may work alone or as part of a crew to meet company service deadlines. All tools and equipment will be provided.

• Work history (progression of responsibility and length of service)
• A desire for the success of the trade (pride and ownership of healthy landscapes
• Ability to demonstrate competency – general understanding of local laws and federal guidelines for application, ability to calibrate equipment for material usage
• The job of the Turf Technician Specialist will be to actively service annual landscape maintenance contracts for the company’s clients – including applying fertilizer and pesticides to lawn and landscape beds
• Ability to grow, maintain and manage the Turf department
• Provide necessary feedback to Account Managers & Operations department to ensure the highest quality of service is provided to our clients
• The turf technician will need to operate on a schedule and complete tasks within allotted time frames via electronic timesheets
• The position will also help cover other duties as needed that would include, mulching, lawn mowing, weeding of beds, hedge trimming, and maintenance projects
• This position provides support on all snow events during the winter months – we provide all necessary training on snow removal
