Sunrise offers a range of services for retaining the health and beauty of
your landscape investment. Our variety of packages can customize your wants
and needs as a lawn care customer.
Lawn Care
Keeping your lawn green and well-nourished is something our lawn technicians
excel at. Aside from regular mowing, your lawn will require periodic care in
the form of fertilization, and disease and weed control at different times
during the growing season. We also provide lawn renovation which includes
top dressing, reseeding and slit-seeding. Our IPM practices prevent grubs
from moving in. Core aeration promotes good soil structure and liming,
applied in the form of pellets, ensures that pH levels are acceptable for
plant nutrient uptake. Let us help you with the maintenance of your lawn so
that you can relax and simply enjoy it in all its verdant luxuriance.
Spring and Fall Cleanups
Spring cleaning in the garden is a time for preparing planting beds. Soil
and mulch need to be turned over to maintain soil structure, edges need to
be re-established, bulbs transplanted, grasses and perennials cut back.
Lawns need to be cleared of leaves and other debris scattered by the winds
of winter.
And while spring may be a time for renewal, fall is a time to get things in
order before the onset of the dormant season. This means that leaves need to
be cleaned up, plants cutback, and bulbs planted for the following year.

Horticultural Pruning
Cherry trees blossom in March yet Crape Myrtles don’t flower until summer.
This is because each species has a different accumulated light threshold
(think internal clock) which triggers it to start budding and growing leaves
and branches. As a result of these different triggering times, each species
starts growing at different times of the year. Plants also differ in the
speed of their growth and in their branching patterns. Pruning, therefore,
is a tailored process and not a one-time event. Our horticultural experts
are carefully trained to prune trees and shrubs according to advanced
pruning techniques and with the uniqueness of each species in mind.

Garden Visits
Signing up for this service, which includes twice monthly visits, will keep
your landscape pristine year round. Issues or problems such as weeds and
disease can be treated on the spot before they become out of control or
costly. Ornamental trees, shrubs and groundcover will be pruned or
deadheaded as necessary. Hard surfaces, like patios and terraces and parking
lots, will be blown free of leaves and debris. This high-level attention
removes the tedium and hassle of managing your landscape and gives you time
to enjoy it.
Tree + Ornamental Care
Just like people, trees and ornamental shrubs need a little bit of coddling
to look their best. Fertilizer, applied to the roots at strategic times of
the year, builds up food reserves. Pruning needs to be selective and
species-specific so that flowering is maximized and plant structure is
respected and enhanced. Sometimes pests become an obstacle to plant health.
IPM (Integrated Pest Management) is the method used by Sunrise to control
pests in an environmentally responsible way. Using knowledge of the life
cycle of the perpetrating party (be it an insect, weed or rodent) and
combined with a predetermined threshold at which pests become a problem (a
single pest does not always warrant extermination) we can ensure pesticides
are not over-used or used needlessly.
Water Feature Management
Water features such as ponds, pools and fountains add a feeling of peace to
any landscape. And, while they are not difficult to clean, specific steps
need to be taken to make sure that water features are not damaged by winter
ice or clogged by debris. By enlisting our help for spring and fall cleanups
you can listen to the sounds of water falling in a fountain, tranquilly.
Low Voltage Lighting Management
Sunrise provides services such as adjusting lights, servicing burned-out
bulbs, fixtures, and transformers. We also install low-voltage lighting. If
you are in need of this service please contact our offices for scheduling.
Irrigation Seasonal Care
In the spring, the system will be charged, and the controller will be turned
on and programmed to your satisfaction. Each station will be checked; heads
will be checked and adjusted as needed. There will also be two visits, one
in July and one in August to make sure your system is working properly. Any
major repairs will be noted and after authorization, will be repaired.
During winterization, the system will be turned off at water source, and the
controller will be turned off. Backflow will be drained out to prevent
freezing. All lines will be blown out with compressed air. Please call our
office for a pricing request.
Snow Management
Whenever the snow falls, our snow plow operators are immediately available
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether you pay by the hour or sign a
seasonal contract, we’ll make sure your neighborhood, parking lot, driveway
and sidewalks are kept clear of snow and ice.
